A workshop will be offered Tuesday, March 7, 2017 on the use of Juypter notebooks on Savio, the UC Berkeley campus’s high-performance computing (HPC) cluster and on the other Berkeley Research Computing HPC clusters, Cortex and Vector.
The Jupyter Notebook is a web application that enables users to create and share documents that contain live code, equations, visualizations, and explanatory text. This interactive workshop, led by Chris Paciorek and Maurice Manning, will give hands-on practice in the use of Jupyter notebooks on these HPC clusters. The second half of the session includes demonstration of more advanced topics, including how to run notebook computations in parallel on Savio and how to integrate notebooks with Box for efficient data transfer.
The workshop will be held from 3:30 pm to 5:00 pm at the Academic Innovation Studio (AIS), 117 Dwinelle Hall. This event is free, and open to all researchers, but some familiarity with the Python programming language is helpful.
