This month's meetup is the first in a series of vendor showcase meetups in which the UC Berkeley Cloud Computing Meetup asks for the vendor to provide research oriented applications of their cloud stacks. In this case AWS has selected RISELab, and we will hear from Joey Gonzalez [https://people.eecs.berkeley.edu/~jegonzal/] who will talk about and demo some of what's been built in the lab and talk about how they have made good use of AWS. Berkeley's RISELab [https://rise.cs.berkeley.edu] is famous as the third in a succession of innovative and productive academic labs in the College of Engineering that have helped define and shape cloud computing and spawned new categories of company and spinoffs like Databricks.
Everyone is welcome - this is a really inclusive group! You don't have to be an expert, or already know about cloud technologies; we get together so people can learn from each other.
CONNECT VIA ZOOM: Our Zoom connection info changes each month and is posted here in meetup invite. [Note: for security reasons attendees must be logged into a Zoom account]
